  1. Another vote for Spider-Man 2 Superbit Version. AWESOME!!!!
  2. These days, many smoke detectors have built in CO sensors and there are stand-alone plug-in models available at most department and hardware stores. If you know anyone in the fire Dept., the gas company, a home inspector or that works in a plant that handles chemicals, they most likely have a portable gas meter that will do the trick. Myself (falling in the latter category) I've checked my house out and most people would be shocked how much CO fills the kitchen everytime you turn on your oven! Dave
  3. Here is a front view. The Omnimounts have a ceiling adapter as well. Dave
  4. Here is a pic of my recent install. I used an Omnimount 20.0 speaker mount and a section of 2x4 to mount my RS-3II rear surrounds. These mounts hold 20 pounds each. Dave
  5. After doing my research, I decided to go with another pair of RS-3s as my rear surrounds to keep a matching set. This weekend I'll run 12 gauge wire to the new rears and test drive 7 channel for the first time! Dave
  6. Can anyone else comment on using floor standing speakers as surrounds?
  7. I'm currently running KLF-20s in the front, a KLF C-7 center and RS-3 surrounds. I'm toying with the idea of picking up a set of KLF-10s to replace the reference series surrounds that I cuurently use. Besides the benefit of matching all speakers to the same series, what are the opinions out there regarding: 1) Would there be any negative issues with the fact that surround speakers are built to perform that function and that using larger speakers in that role would be less effective for 5.1 situations? 2) I like to use 5 channel stereo when listening to music cds. Would the KLF-10s be a noticeable improvement over the smaller surrounds for that purpose? 3) Any other potential problems that I haven't listed? Thanks in advance for any help. I'll hang up and listen for any answers. Dave
  8. They do have DTS CDs out. Also, regarding the 6 RCA jacks, that is for DVD-A setup (not what you are looking for).

    More Power!

My setup works like this. You can't add to your receiver's power but you can bypass the receiver's power with a more powerful amp. My Adcom amp delivers 200 wpc to the front speakers while my Denon receiver delivers it's power to the rest of the speakers. An amp recommendation is sure to lead to many different answers but stick with any of the big names and you can't go wrong (Adcom, Rotel, B&K).
  10. I also had my KLF20s done by Dean and I experienced the same things as the above poster. My first impression was as if some type of "filter" had been removed (like when you pressed the noise reduction button on the old tape decks). The clarity improvement was noticable. When showing off my setup to friends, I use the same song clip, and after listening to that many times over, you notice subtle changes easily. I'm having my KLF-C7 center channel done as we speak, so I put my money where my mouth is. Dave
  11. Safety & Security Manager at a chemical plant located in XXXXXXXXXXXX (information deleted by the Department of Homeland Security)
  12. I have the KLF-20s and ran a RC-3 center for several years. I recently purchased a used KLF-C7 from eBay and I'm pleased with the change. You can usually find used KLF-C7s on eBay so give it a try. The price range is around $300 - $400. Dave
  13. I have a Denon 3300 AVR available which would blow the doors off of that model. Check your email. Dave
  14. Newly finished Home Theater Big and LOUD!!
  15. I just wanted to add my name to the list of satisfied customers for Dean's crossover upgrades. My KLF-20s sound much cleaner and crisp than ever before! If anyone out there is looking for a nice tweak to their speakers, give this a try. I found him to be top notch in serving his customers while going all-out to produce an excellent final product. I assure you that I am not compensated for this post nor did I even know him before I inquired about his services. I only wish to pass on compliments to a person who deserves them and let others know that you can upgrade your current system without blowing the budget.
  16. DirecTV has a Tivo offer as well.
  17. I had the same issue. On my Denon, the LFE setting was turned at it's lowest setting. I don't know if the settings are the same on your receiver but take a look.
  18. Are there any details on the process or cost?
  19. I happen to be looking for a ksw 15. Still looking to sell? Dave dcelov@yahoo.com
  20. I bought both my center channel and surrounds (two separate orders over 1 year) from them and the service/shipping/price were all outstanding!

    Klf-20

Nothing personal, but klf-20s are being blown out as discontinued across the country. I bought a brand new pair for well under a grand, including tax and a warranty from Tweeter.
  22. DVD-A discs have a choice menu of 5.1 or 2 channel stereo playback
  23. Some DVDs have hard to find sound setup menus that allow many choices of dd or dts playback. Also, try a different audio output setting on your DVD player.
  24. dts is better than dd
