  1. I have klf 30s 20s and 2 c7s for movies I run them on small but cross them over at 50 hrz for 2 channel music I prefer them on large btw when I was just using my reciever and not my amp I allways ran them on small just my 2 cents Rich
  2. Just for the fun of it I'm considering building a "test" cabinet with KLF-30 dimensions from 3/4" MDF as a test unit. That way all I have to do is take the drivers out of the my current center and use them with various motor board configurations. If I don't like it, I can easily go back to what I have now. I'm considering testing the following configurations based upon ideas presented in this thread... redtop this is a good idea you can still get lengend speaker parts from Klipsch Building your own center out of mdf to the exact dimentions of a klf 30 might be more cost effective than buying one used and modifing it [] what a great idea Rich
  3. A perfect timbre match would be another klf 30 Rich
  4. The difference between the klf10's and 20's is the 10's are a 2 way and the 20's are a 3 way IMO the 20's are far superior I listened to both and for music the 20's sounded cleaner You can also get the klf 30's which are idenical to the 20's besides having 2 12" woofers the mids and highs are the same I love my lengends I have 30's 20's and 2 c7's Rich
  5. How many of you are using amps by different companies would this make a difference I have a 3 channel amp for the front 3 speakers does it matter if I get an amp front another company for the remaining 3 channels Rich
  6. Hey all, I'm tring to figure out what to do right now I have a pioneer elite 43tx and a cinenova grande 3 300x3 for the front 3 speakers this has been a slow process to seperates I have that upgrade bug and can go two ways I could get another amp for the 3 surround speakers and then get a processer next year or so OR just replace my reciever with a better one My budget is around $2000 right now I don't know if $2000 for a reciever would give a significant upgrade over my current reciever so I am leaning towards the amp now option I am looking for upgradability & the best sound quailty I can afford. Which way would some of you go and can you please recommend the products you would use. My speakers are Klipsch klf 30s 20s and 2 clfc7s 6.1 set up I also do 50/50 movies music Thanks Rich
  7. You can get an Earthquake cinenova grande 3 channel 300x3 for $1100 + shipping brand new I have the legends series speakers sounds really good it has a slightly laid back sound to it which I think is a good match for Klipsch If interested let me now and I will give you the name of the dealer Rich OOPS I didn't realize this was for a 2 channel amp I had a Rotel 1080 200x2 sounded really good retail is $1000

    Help

Craig I am using a pioneer elite with my klf30s it sounds good but, even better when you amp them when I was using just the reciever the bass was weak and the reciever would trip (at louder volumes) even when I set them to small with the crossover at 100hz It's a different story after I amped them WOW I had loads of bass so you can get a reciever now (demo some to see what you like) THEN get an amp for you mains later PS I got my crossovers upgraded by DeanG it is definately worth every penny no more harshness and tighter bass Rich
  10. All my equipment is plugged in to a Monster power center with a read out of line voltage and amp usage MrMcGoo I also have a deticated 20 amp I don't understand how you draw so little current????
  11. HOLLY SMOKES MrMcGoo 625x2 I'm running 300wpc now can't imagine that doubled How many amps is that amp pulling from the wall when mine is cranked it's at about 5 amps Rich
  12. There are klf30s and klf c7s on ebay http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2F&fkr=1&from=R8&satitle=klipsch+klf&category0= Rich
  13. I had a Rotel 1080 200x2 for the mains I did like but, seemed to be a bit bright at louder levels I would go back to Rotel but, I also what to keep my options open I think it's going to be between the Rotel 1095 and the B&K 200.5 is the B&K warmer sounding than Rotel? Thanks Rich Just my opinion again, but the brightness at louder levels is probably the speakers. I had my crossovers upgraded by DeanG here on the forum, and the difference is amazing. The slight brightness I had in my KLF-20's at loud levels is now gone. I have always loved my 20's, but this upgrade took them to a whole new level. Highly recommended. Just a thought. Good luck with whatever you decide....it's your ears that matter anyway. I had my klf30s and c7 crossovers done by DeanG also. It definetly was an inprovement Right now I'm using a Earthquake cinenova Grande 3 for the front 3 channels this amp sounds really good. It has 300wpc with a slightly laid back high end. I was toying with the idea of replacing it but, I think maybe I'll keep it.I think I'll get a killer amp for the mains maybe a Rotel 1090 2 channel Does any on have a 1090 with Klipsch?
  14. $1600 is a great deal for a 200.7, I paid $1500 for my 200.5. For that price you could try it out for a while, and if you don't like it i'm sure you could sell it without taking a loss. Used 200.7's don't last long on Audiogon. Jeremy I thought it was the 200.7 but it's the 200.5 I talked to my local dealer trying to get it for $1500 he's going to let me demo it for now I will be using my pioneer elite 43tx as the pre/pro Rich
