  6. This past weekend I got to play with my system a little bit. I had all of the speakers calibrated to the AVIA DVD and wanted to see if there was any difference with the internal receiver test tones. With the receiver at 00, the left, center, and right channels were great. The rear channels were a bit off. Then the sub channel came on. The sub was a few dBs higher so I made that level with the main speakers at 85 dB. After the calibration, the bass had more range than before. It seemed like the AVIA disk calibration was is using lower bass frequencies to for sub calibration. While I was listening to some bass heavy music on Saturday, the music was awesome and I could hear and fell all of the frequencies played. I have not tried movies with that setting but want to soon. It seemed that the AVIA subwoofer tone played lower frequencies making every bass scene I watch shake everything (which is fine with me) but I wanted more bass range.
  7. I bought my self a remote controlled General Lee which is something I have wanted for a LONG time.
  8. I have had a few of those. The first was watching Conspiracy Theory in the theater. It is the seen where Mel Gibson and Julia Robers are in a barn and there was a noise that was slowly getting louder right by where the door to the theater was. i thought that the person at the door better shut the door so I can enjoy the movie. So I turn around and the door was closed and when I realized it was the surrund sound I was kind of mad cause it took me out of the movie. The second was watching Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones on my system. It is the scene where there is a battle in the arena near the end of the film. There was a sound behind me and I did not know if it was outside or in the movie. So I played that part again and when I found out that it was a sound behind me I laughed and was praising my RS-7s. My last one was Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn in 5.1. It was a part in the movie where you are the going through the woods as the evil presence, and I heard a dog barking. I still don't know if it is in the movie or it was my neighbour's dog. The next time I watch it I will try to listen for it again to figure out if it was real or not. Patrick
  9. TheEAR, Thanks for the advice. I am gonna set my speakers to small until I get a nice preamp and amp next year. I might do some more A/B with them set to large before that to see the results. Patrick
  10. No I did not win it this time. Hopefully soon thought.
  11. Thanks Trey and Amy. I am already learning alot thanks to the other hardcore Klipsch fans. Champagne tast beer budget, I haven't been up in your area in a LONG time. Who knows I might make it up there for fun sometime. Patrick
  12. ajcllc, I found a local dealer which is an hour away from me which is good. I am gonna email them next week to get prices of a 5/5210A 5-Channel Amplifier and the PT-7010A Pre Processor are. I know my 20's can handel the 200 watts per channel but I don't think my RS-7's can handel it because they are only 150 watts max continous. I did toe-in my 20's really good but I want to work on the placement a little better. Patrick
  13. ajcllc, My room is 12x8x8. I know it is not a big room but the way I think of it is that I have alot of head room with the speakers. Is the Sherbourn a warm amp? tdkamerica, I would rather have the phantom center and store the RC-7 because I don't have enough space under or over my screen for the KLF-C7. So I would rather keep the RC-7 until something happens to the KLF-20's then I can easily upgrade to the RF-7's
  14. tkdamerica, Where is the throat in the horn on the 20's? agcllc, Thanks for the reference to the Sherbourn brand. I sent them an email to see if there are any delears in Minnesota. I have been also looking at Rotel for a preamp and amp. I did find a local dealer for them here which is not to far away from me. If I do get an amp how many wats per channel should I get? Patrick
  15. I think I will just store the RC-7 until I get a pair of RF-7s which might be a few years away. I can put my record player in the spot where the C-7 was. I did toe-in my speakers tonight but I don't think they are at the same angle. Is there a trick to toe-in my speakers or should I just have them face forward? Also I did notice when using the phantom mode that the "center channel" was a half of a dB louder then the left and right speaker. Is that fine or is there something I can do to fix that? Thanks for all of the help. Patrick
