Thumpelstiltskin
Here's an ad I found. They're too far away for me, but maybe someone here could get a great deal. "WONDERFUL KLITSCH HORNS, klitchors corner speakers top of the line, all horn speakers, oak, $3500 new only $1250 /obo, cash only; 612-861-3434 Richfield, MN." Thumpelstiltskin
The same person has this ad for Cornwall II speakers. Their spelling's a little better in this ad....but not much. "INCREDIBLE KLISCH CORN WALL 2 SPEAKERS, concert hall quality, horn speakers, $1850 new $800 bo, cash only; 612-861-3434"
Thumpelstiltskin
Last one....I think. "KLISCH HARRASY 2 SPEAKERS, horn teewter and mid range, 12 in woofer and rear 12 in passive woofer, oak, $1250 NEW $400 /OBO"
colterphoto1
lovely spelling. If it was ebay they wouldn't get a nibble! LOL Michael
mandi
Do they really have Harrasys if they are stated there is a rear passive woofer?
DoubleJ
Where did you see this ad? I'm not too far away to take a peak at them. JJ
Thumpelstiltskin
I just called the guy. He seems really nice and has some other stuff for sale, too. The Heresys (or "Harrasays") in the ad are actually Quartets, which explains the passive woofer.....that's the bad news. The good news is that he offered to sell the K-horns and Cornwalls together for $1650. Why can't deals like this come to my neighborhood??!!?? BTW....He's also got an SW-15 subwoofer, some Carver stuff and an Adcom CD changer for sale.
DoubleJ
On my way now to check them out. We'll see what happends. JJ
Champagne taste beer budget
If it wasn't busy here at the shop I'd be making the trip to check em out. 4 hours round trip, but well worth it if they're in good shape.
DoubleJ
Well, I'm a proud owner of a set of K-Horns mentioned above. Thank You for the heads up, Thumplestiltskin!!! They aren't in the best of shape, no major corner dings, the grills are in pretty good shape but there is some major chipping on one speaker where the top unit rests. The guy was selling them as 1983's in Oak finish but they turned out to be: KB-WO Serial #'s 12S335 & 12S336 They will need to be re-done eventually, but for right now, they are tolerable. Now all I need is some corners and something decent to drive them with. JJ P.S. I'll post some pictures when I get them out of the kitchen. Thumpelstiltskin
Did you ask about the center channel speaker?
DoubleJ
Thump: The center channel was a KV-3, I was kinda hopin' that it was an Academy. The rest of the speakers were in pretty tough shape, esp. the Cornwall II's. They are no where close to his asking price of $800.00 as well as the other speakers. I didn't view the Carver/Adcom stuff. The guy selling all this stuff has seen his share of hard luck/times and you could tell that he was really sad to have to sell all his Klipsch speakers.
