topfueltom Posted February 25, 2005 Share Posted February 25, 2005 Hello all you Klipsch phans, I just bought a Sony Sony STR -DA80ES receiver and the protection light is coming on, I removed the cover to take a look at what might be a problem but no obvious clues, however I switched a breaker on and the lights in front turned on but only for a few seconds and then flashed protection again, can someone tell me what might be the problem? I would like to fix this as it is a really nice unit for HT, it originally sold for $1200 and is a very heavy peice too!! rtaylor Posted February 26, 2005 Share Posted February 26, 2005 Hey Tom, if you don't get an answer here there are some knowledgeable people over at audiokarma who helped me with a similar problem with a Sansui receiver. Sorry I can't help you. It turned out to be two resistors on a board that go bad all the time. Replaced them and it runs great. Good luck.
