bil4hire
I'm new to the home theater world and I'm looking into getting a Reference system or a Synergy system and was wondering if it is worth the extra cash for the Reference system? Or if the Synergy is the one for me.
gcoker
It's worth it. Unless you are compairing the SF-3 Synergy to the RF-10 or 15 Reference.

MrMcGoo
An other vote for Reference and Reference dealers should give at least a 10% discount if you bargain well. A 5.1 system may yield a better discount. Synergy will sell for full retail except for one or two sales per year. Reference uses better drivers and crossover components. Personally, I would stay away from the RF-10s and 15s. So the smallest I would go would be RF or RB-25s. Bigger is better in the Reference series. tommyboy
I have an synergy system. (SF1's, SS1,s & C2 center) RW10 Sub. I would say if you allready have the $$$ for the reference, go for it. But if money if an issue, get the synergy. for the money, it's definitely a lot of "bang for the buck". My wife and I heard an all reference system when I bought my sub, and it sounded totally awesome. We just don't have the money for it right now, but for the time being, we're totally satisfied with our synergy setup.
