My unit arrives today and I am not sure about this - my understanding is that Heresys roll off around 65hz? Any help much appreciated. formica Posted March 18, 2005 Share Posted March 18, 2005 I'd go with the standard 80Hz... and I'd use a 24db/octave slope. You may want to experiment with 12db/octave... but this will give you a starting point. Given you are driving your mains with a SET, you should reduce it's load as much as possible in order to get the greatest gains. Using a x-over higher than that, the bass will become directional. Lower than that (60Hz), your SET will work harder. Even lower (40Hz) your Heresys will roll off naturally before the sub fills in... and you'll have a drop in your response. Later...
