slofuse1
I've been shopping to upgrade to a player and thought I'd get a changer while I'm at it. These two models don't seem to differ from one another except in price (about $100). I did notice that one article mentioned the 2815 had an ultra-quiet changer mechanism. Questions: 1. Any good reason to buy the 2815 over the 1815? 2. Any good reason not to buy a changer? All opinions appreciated
ct1615
I had a Denon DVD player and returned it because it was so loud when it played DVDs. My advice, check the players at the store before you buy them.
jacksonbart
I own the 1815, its a nice player, but it is loud IMO. I always used the digital out and let my reciever perform the D/A. I used on my sony xbr prior to getting the DLP and the picture was very good in progressive scan. I personally found I only used the changer for music, not movies. The downside is there are no HDMI or DVI output and it does not support SACD. Not sure about the 2815, I recently jumped to the 3910. Duffinator
The difference is the 2815 has DVD-Audio capabilities and the 1815 doesn't.
