Hi,

I just got a used set of Klipschorn's delivered and the seller did not know how to connect as there father had passed away and they didn't have the manuals. These are 1980 models with 4 connectors, RED/Black, 2 top and 2 bottom. The speaker wire feeding the cross over is pluged into the top post. Any helps is appreciated. Which connection post do you connect the speaker wire from the amp to?

Thanks for your help,

Greg

there should be 3 sets of input terminals. a red/black for all three drivers. you can hook them up as you wish, you can tri-amp by running three sets of wires, one to each driver. this is assuming you have 6 amplifier channels. you can also strap together the tweeter and midhorn terminals together and run those to an amp channel. then you would only need 4 amp channels to do it. does this make any sense?

Greg,

I have '87 Khorns and if I'm not mistaken your '80s are similar and have 2 sets of terminals on the bass bin. The lower set is where the amps connect and the upper set connects the bass bin to the top-end xover. You should have AK-2 xovers which means that the low-pass for the woofer is located in the bass bin and the xover for the mid and tweeter is located in the top cabinet. If that's the case then you should be set.

Hope this helps and enjoy on your new purchase.

Have fun -Bryan

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the information and I do have the AK-2 crossovers and I just connected the amp cables to the lower two red/black plugs. I am just using the one amp now. The sound is great except I have no Bass on either speaker. Just checked fuses and they are good in both speakers but still no Bass. These speakers are stock with no modifications. Any ideas??

I will post this on the modifications board also.

Thanks for the information on Bi-Amping also as I will plan on doing that once I get them totally up and going.

Thanks Again,

Greg
