CAS
Seems I had to send in an SF2 for horn replacement with not more than a year of service. Anyway, it came back with minor scratches to the veneer and a small gouge where they popped out the horn. Problem: SF2's are out of production and I built some beautiful matching stands for them which drastically improves imaging. The retail manager was very accomodating and offered to give me his like-new demos, free DVD's, or update me to the F2's. Question: I love the sound and look of my SF2's (the damage is negligible, however I'll always know it's there even if nobody else does), especially with the custom stands. Anybody think it's warranted to update to F2's for sound quality alone? Or would you keep SF2's and accept other compensation? Thanks
Bill H.
Cas, For myself, I would just " keep SF2's and accept other compensation.". If you already like their sound and because they are fixed, I would just move on............life is too short ! Good Luck to you.
ifrag
any pics of the stands that you built for them?
wheelman
I love the sf-2's. They look like they were built like the old reference series. My favorite speaker for their size.

I removed the speaker feet and merely tapped the screw all the way through the stand's top plate to make it seamless. From anywhere in the room it looks like the SF2's were manufactured this way.
