haman kardon signature 2.1

Last year I purchased a 2.1 to go with my avr8000 and power the 7.1 surround rears. After a little thinking, I decided to attatch the RF7 mains and RC7 to the 2.1... My reasoning was that the 2.1 was rated something like 150w through 6ohms whereas the avr8000 is rated at 8ohms. From what I read on these forums the RF7s become very power hungry when it comes to pushing the lower frequencies. I also have had personal experience with the reciever clipping while watching some very bass-intense DVDs such as in Matrix2 "the freeway scene" which seems to confirm the previous sentence. After switching the amplification to the 2.1, the clipping problems have disappeared. Since I do not have a subwoofer at this point I AM asking the speakers to do quite a bit of work, but they have done all that I have asked... and then some.

As far as music goes, I never had problems with the avr8000 before, and after switching to the 2.1 I still don't. To me, they both sound great!

The 2.1 singnature sounds excellent with the klf 30's I was a little surprised just how it really mates up good with the klipsch it really gives them a nice warm powerful sound and really put bass in the speakers I would love to get a hold of the matching pre amp .

Thanks for all your replies

Randy
