Les P
Good day all; I have a set of La Scala's that has the horn section detached from the woofer section. I acquired these from a friend many years ago and do not know the story behind the "detached design". These are black lacquered with aluminum metal corner trim. Wife says they got to go in favor of a smaller, decor favorable speaker. What is this La Scala's market value and is there even a market for these baby's? TBrennan
Les--That speaker is one of the pro-sound versions of the LaScala, no idea what it's worth. Your wife says they have to go?!?
soundog
They go for anywhere between $750 and $1500 a pair , on ebay depending on age and condition and whether or not anyone near you is interested ...they are costly to ship. They seperate so they can be moved from concert to concert more easily.

boomer9911
If your wife surfs the net, have her stop by the BB, you have a treasure in your hands, and according to Opray worth a "couple" of bucks, keep em
drobo1
I had a buddy in college, early '70's, who had a PA company that did sound for local concerts in the Alabama area. He used multiple Pro La Scalas much like you describe. The purpose of the detached design was to allow various stacking configurations, such as two bass cabinets topped by two high frequency cabinets. drobo
Lone Palm
Les P they are two piece so the bass could go on the floor and the sqawker/tweeter unit could be hung from the ceiling.
