GOPHER Posted June 21, 2005 Share Posted June 21, 2005 Does anyone here have experience with this 7ch. amplifier and an RF-7 based speaker setup? I am so tempted to buy this amp, but I'm not sure that the Mac circuitry which senses impedance load will work with these speakers. Mac quotes 8 or 4 ohm manual setting, but circuitry will identify actual load and downshift accordingly. Sunfire, according to the Mac dealer has the specs, but at higher distortion. He wasn't sure about what the Mac would do with impedance loads between 8 or 4, or less than 4 which I've heard the RF-7 can produce. Thanks in advance- Gopher. JTA Posted June 21, 2005 Share Posted June 21, 2005 It won't be a problem. I have used my 207 on a pair of Cornwalls, KG 5.5s and Epic CF-4s. If any Klipsch speaker was going to explore the limits of that amp it would be the CF-4s and the McIntosh handles them wonderfully. The Sunfire is not even in the same league as the MC207.
