rasavage4
My phono preamp is kinda crappy and is getting VERY tempermental (read as lots of unwanted noise). Does anyone have any good replacement suggestions? Thanks.
jbsl
If you play alot of records then the Juicy Music Blueberry or Blueberry extreme have gotten excellent reviews on the 2 channel forum. I'm trying to save up for the Peach preamp. These are tube preamps. If you want a SS preamp someone else should be able to give some ideas. Do a search in the 2 channel forum on the blueberry. nicholtl
It also depends on how much you're willing to fork across the counter.
LarryC
What's in your system now? What TT, cartridge, phono pre, and also what preamp/amp, or integrated amp, or receiver? Larry
rasavage4
Thanks guys, it turns out my problem was more human error than anything. But your responses bring up a pseudo related question that I've been wondering about. Are preamps like the blueberry used strictly with power amps or can they be hooked up to an avr? I'm sure this is an elementary question but the more I've been listening to LP's the more I've been thinking about a 2 channel setup in addition to my HT. Thanks again. jbsl
Depends on the A/VR. IF it has a main in and a pre out then you should be able to use the amp from the A/VR with a preamp. I would suggest later getting a separate power amp or amps. Xman
marksdad
just connect throught the tape out on your avr, and since you are using an avr another suggestion is the musical fidelity x can series preamps they are tube like in thier presentation and only set you back 3-325, and they are whisper quiet
