Please help. Power Handling on the RB-3???

Underhanded Penguin

Recommended Posts

Hi admins. My RB-3 manual says that the power handling is 150 watts maximum continuous and it says "max input pwr: 150 watts" on the back of my speaker. But the specs on your site says 100 watts maximum continuous. Which is it? And if it is 100 watts , then does it mean that I cannot use a a receiver that has 150 watts per channel? Please clarify.

THX in advance.

They had that problem with the RF-3s. In the manual it states the max power is 225 watts while the specs on this site say it's 150 watts. I'm guessing the manual is wrong again, so the RB-3s are most likely 100 watts.

If the speakers are rated at 100 watts maximum continuous, does this mean that I cannot use a receiver that has over 100wpc? I asked the dealer this same question, and he said I could use a receiver with over 100 wpc. (not that I have a receiver like that right now, but for upgrading in the future, it's good to know)

Any help would be appreciated.

RB-3

POWER HANDLING: 100 watts maximum continuous (400 watts peak)

You can put up to 100 watts into the RB-3's with out hurting them.

Any thing over is pushing it.

400 is where it will want to...... do bad things.

As long as you use a good clean amp, you could push 150 - 200 watts.

But who the hell needs that much power for a pair of Klipsch? Smile.gif

What are you running them with at the moment?
