Could I do the repairs myself or with the help of my dad, he is good with electronics. THanks CTP
RAPTORMAN
If the price remains at that level, I would place a bid. If your dad can repair it, I'm sure you can always put it back on Ebay for more money. If you don't want to keep it for your self. I've never seen a Mac gear this low before. Best person to ask is your dad .
KlipsDude
It would be a great deal for you if the cost will not be too high to repair it, since Dad will help you the labor cost will really help but the parts cost a lot if it a major thing if several parts, can really add up. It's it's not so major, you could have a great deal, but a risky chance since you can't check it out before buying it! Shame someone didn't take care of that baby! Nice piece. djk
The original driver transistors are no longer available from McIntosh, if you need some let me know. Last one I fixed lost the power transformer, no longer available either. A pair of toroids can be stacked inside the old metal can if need be. If you want it to sound great, do this: http://db.audioasylum.com/cgi/m.mpl?forum=amp&n=49299&highlight=McIntosh+schematics+djk&session=
