curtisk228
I live in an apartment complex and someone is selling a pair of Klipsch ( I assume they're KG5.5 by matching the picture to the photos on Klipsch website) speakers. They're asking $300. According to the website these speakers were discontinued in 1997. Is this a good investment? I'm going to replace my Sony floor speakers with these. Any help will be appreciated.
garymd
Great price if they're in good condition. Find out what finish they are and make sure all the drivers work. If you replace the sony's (the 5.5s will blow them away!), you'll need to match the center and rears also. Luckily, the KG series has a lot of inexpensive and great sounding options when it comes to centers and surrounds. They can be found pretty cheap on ebay or Craiglist. Good luck and welcome to the forum.
Tim_in_NC
Depending on Condition...this might not be too bad of a deal... However, I would try for $250 ... You could also look around and find a good set of older RF-3 or RF-3 II towers... These can be found on sites for around $400+ ...
