i've had it with promedia 4.1's

Dear Amy,

As you can see from the e-mail history below i've had to return defective 4.1's before. Fast forward to today, i am again experiencing the very same problem with the replacement speakers that i got on June from Kromer Radio.

I can't describe in words the rage i am feeling right now. After seeing one of my friends, Haig Atikian, get himself a pair of 4.1's and also go through the very same thing i did and even more (3 returns before he got a good pair), I am reluctant to trust Klipsch with the products that they sell. I am only a student. The large sum of money that i spent on the 4.1's were hard earned and very hard to come by. To see myself buying or receiving a defective product again could possibly make me go mad.

Amy, all i want is a good set of working speakers. I'm afraid to say that you have lost my trust in your 4.1 line of promedias. I think that it would be fair to say that I deserve a better set of speakers rather than me having to go through the agony of having another busted 4.1 set.

frustrated,

Miguel Antonio

Well, you have every right to hate klipsch right now, but to put it in perspective, they are just pc speakers. There is no reason to go mad for from not getting a working set. I'd recommend finding an old pair of v.2-400s, or upgrading to 5.1s if you ever get a refund. But from what it sounds like, you will never buy anything from Klipsch again. It's a little weird that the 4.1s actually are worse than the v.2-400 when you figure the defective # of each system.

they said and i quote

"Klipsch has identified a manufacturing defect in a small percent of ProMedia 4.1 systems..."

i find this statement hard to believe since 5 sets of 4.1's have already been returned between me and my friend.

its such a hassle for me to return these things since the place where i bought it is 90 minutes away from my house, plus i have to lug around that box everytime i go

what the?

you cannot go mad for getting crappy sets of PC speakers?!!!! home audio speakers u can? where u heading man?.

Vatican. since u cant return them. I recommand when your new set arrives (for the xx time). do not unpack it. go on ebay or something, and sell it to someone else, include the reciept so they can return for warranty. they might have better luck.

and get yurself another brand of speakers. thank god my set is still pumping Smile.gif

Miguel,

I'm sorry for the problem you are experiencing. I'll give your information to our Canadian Dealer rep, who can get with Kromer to see if they can figure out what the problem is. I'll let you know when I hear back, or someone will contact you.

Thank you,

Amy

  • 2 weeks later...

It is interesting to see that Klipsch continues to have the same problem with the 4.1's after all these months. I have already returned 3 stes, for this very same problem back in April and May! I am about to return my 4th set for the same problem! I will give this set a chance after which I will more than likely seek a refund, if that is possible! I have been given an RA # and told it will be about 2 weeks for turn around! The clock will be running as of tomorrow! I WOULD NOT recommend these speakers to anyone! I'am going to E-Mail Maximum PC watchdog and tell them to Demote the award given to the Speakers in a review! Should be rated at 1.5 out of 10! Klipsch can do better than this!
