klipschboy
Hello everyone, Two days ago, after watching a DVD movie I noticed that both of my KSP400s were making a very loud hum that I've never experienced before. I turned off the Subs and turned them back to the automatic mode but as soon as I try to play some music, the hum came back again. Could someone tell me what's wrong with my KSP please? I hope that nothing is hapenning with the internal amps with my KSP400. Thank you, Tony
hwatkins
Could very well be the classic ground loop problem. You will have to detach each input in a disciplined 'one at a time' way to find the culprit. Start with the cable TV attachment - by far the most common culprit. If it is a ground loop there are a multitude of solutions from folks here - all are generally simple and work well...
klipschboy
Thanks I'll try that after get home from work. By the way, I just recently connected a new HDTV amplifier on the same Monster Power bar. Tony
klipschboy
Henry, you were right about the problem. I unplugged the HDTV amplifier the hum was gone. Henry, could you advice me how to solve this ground loop problem? Anyone here has the same probem? Thanks,Tony
MrMcGoo
If your HDTV is cable, it is not grounded properly. A Jensen isolation transformer will isolate the HDTV cable box from the problem. Bill

Right now, my HDTV looks excellent and I don't know if I need to use that amplifier or not. Thanks, Tony
klipschboy
By the way how do you like the KSP 400's for HT and 2 channel? Well, I've been enjoying my KSP400 since the day I bought them. I don't know how the other KSP400 owners think, but the KSP400 works excellent in bi-amping mode. In fact, we have three pairs in our families. Keep looking on Ebay and you could get them for less than $1000/pairs. Tony
Dylanl
I have a pair myself. I was just wondering what you thought. I may look to part with them seeing I do not use them much these days.
