Private auctions by zero feedback sellers?

It raises red flags for me, too. Could be someone, not too saavy, who just clicks on the features because they are available.

If it was an item I was really interested in I'd contact the seller to make sure I the situation smelled o.k. before bidding.

Most often, if a seller is a scammer, the description won't sound right, either. Then that just confirms the first red flags.

I've been keeping an eye on marantz 5s for a while and this is the auction that prompted my post.

There was another recent auction for a Meridian 508.24 which sold for

more that it usually sells on Audiogon. Since bidders identity is not

shown you never know who is bidding on it to jack up the price? Can

the seller himself bid on his own auctions?
