007
EDIT: I found the price $280Honeslty it seems a bit expensive for basically being 1/2 of the 2.0 system + 1 more tweeter + a dock station. Being that the 2.0's are 99 bucks, where the hell did the extra expense come from? Andy, please give me an explanation. Also, without four 2.5 woofers like the 2.0s, it may not have enough to top the im7s, Im guessing size was the major issue here.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Moderators Amy Posted October 7, 2005 Moderators Share Posted October 7, 2005 The engineering involved, the materials, the design, the dock, the remote, the intricate electronics....this isn't on par with just putting an amp into 2 passive speakers, although that takes some effort as well! Larry1
Well a early review of the iGroove is online by iLounge http://ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/comments/klipsch-igroove-all-in-one-digital-music-speaker-system-ipod/ I find their conclusion interesting. "As we noted at the onset of the review, Klipsch has been gunning for SoundDock, but Altec changed the rules of the game when it introduced iM7 - a system with superior audio, a lower price point, battery-powered portability, and at least equal (if not superior) industrial design. Merely releasing a system nearly identical to SoundDock isnt enough at this point; iM7 is the target going forward, and any speaker system thats the same size, costs more and delivers less versatility will be a tougher sell in our view." There a lot of excellent images comparing all three speaker systems. I'm sure we will see many opinions soon on the Klipsch iGroove.
malechi
I currently have the ProMedia 2.0 Ultras (though they were RMA'd for defective volume control). Do you believe the sound quality of the Ultras is comparable to the igroove? I'm considering purchasing the igroove. My workmate has the Bose Sounddock and I love to make him eat it when I compare his $300 system to my $100 system.
