Grateful11 Posted November 7, 2005 Share Posted November 7, 2005 Hi, I'm looking at getting a 50" Plasma (Panasonic TH50PX50U or Philips 50PF7320A/37) or the new rear projection Sony KDS-R50XBR1 SXRD 50" 1080p. My Cornwalls might end up being less than a foot away from the screen, although the bottom of the screen will be probably be 2ft off the floor. It's Sony's new supposedly 1080p compatible Rear Projection but the more I read about it the less it sounds like it ever play 1080p not over HDMI anyway. I've seen it once and it does a nice picture but it's pricey at $4K for 50". The more I read here and over AV forums the more it sounds like I shouldn't really be concerned with 1080p for a while. I'm still stuck between Plasma and RP DLP. I was just checking out Mitsubishi's line-up and it's impressive. Chris Robinson Posted November 8, 2005 Share Posted November 8, 2005 I bought the Panny 50" plasma two years ago and haven't regretted it for a moment.
