jt1stcav
Craig, see Max's system profile. Max built 'em himself...nice 3-ways that replaced his Heresys (I do wonder how they sound, though).
jt1stcav
Max, I am happy for you...congrats on your new SS purchase (sure couldn't beat the price). I'm glad to hear your earlier concerns before the SS amp had been properly broken in are no longer an issue now, that they indeed did open up after leaving them on 24/7, and that they sound spectacular in your audio system. Having that high-quality tube preamp is definately a blessing in disguise. Even if you had a SS pre, as long as it was of the highest calibre and matched up to your system, that's really all that matters anyway. I definately have no problems with SS amplification; if I didn't own my 300B SE amp, I'd still own my classic '72 McIntosh MC250 amp (to my ears this vintage Mac is still the best transistorized amplifier I've heard in my ever-changing system). Enjoy, and happy listening. Oh, and is the hum you experienced before with the Powerhouse finally gone?
