Chris Garrett Posted October 9, 2001 Share Posted October 9, 2001 Last month I attended the VSAC tube show in Seattle, WA and picked up a pair of George Wright's Mono 8 300B amps. Since I'm now running some power hungry Dynaudio Contour 3.0s, I realize I'm in need of more efficient speakers and this brings me to the Cornwall 1s. Does anyone have any leads, or can they point me in the right direction, apart from the common Audio For Sale sites? I realize freight shipping will exact a price. I prefer a pair that are plug and play and not a 'project' and I guess I prefer veneer vs. painted finishes. I don't mind paying a bit more for something in 'as new' shape, if that even exists for 15+ year old speakers. I don't know about the Cornwalls but there is a pair of Klipschorns and La Scala's (both Raw Birch from 1987) out on Ebay right now. The seller lives in St. Augustine so you could drive up to pick them up. If you purchase any of these speakers (or the Cornwalls), check out Al Klappenberger's site (Forum member) for the crossover network upgrades (type ALK)...
