rsp1068
metalmaniac, just for a little insight. I listen to lots of jazz, instrumental, and older blues. The "heaviest" being SRV. My listening is done at low levels, where I like dynamic, very detailed music. The 1090 is overkill, as my RB-1080 handled the 7's with ease. I did a head to head with the 1080, 1090 to see which I should keep, and I did the 1090 just for the "snort" in the bank. The 1080 stayed right with the 1090 until the volume got to deafening levels. Soundstage, resoultion, lots of "terms" can be attributed to the front end gear, namely pre amp. I really noticed the high volume "harshness" dissapeared with the addition of a tubed pre, and yet with the right tubes I have achived resolution that any ss pre never dreamt of, through both the 3's and 7's. Covered alot of ground here, but hey, isn't that the purpose of a public forum, learn, share, and debate..... Bob
