DrWho
I made a few bucks over break helping my grandparents out with a ton of stuff and now I've got a $100 budget for a mixer - which I'm hoping to use for a measurement microphone. Apart from the Behringer consoles, what other options might y'all suggest? I was thinking it'd be cool to find a mixer that I might be able to use in a live sound setting. However I came across this board which is just mega cool and thought I'd share it with the forum: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=live/search/detail/base_pid/630925/ And here are some other mixers I'm looking at: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=live/search/detail/base_pid/630156/ http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=live/search/detail/base_pid/631257/ I would love to get the Mackie Onyx: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=live/search/detail/base_pid/634266/ But alas I don't have anywhere near that kind of cash. Anyways, the goal is a few clean mic preamps, an aux send and preferably faders (I hate turning pots). So ya, I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on the matter... I also don't own a measurement mic yet either...so perhaps it would make more sense to go with a $50 mixer instead (I think the Behringer mic goes for around $50 too). DrWho
The more I think about it, the more I think I should just go this route: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/270400/ together with: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/631238/

If you read up on the Behringer mixers ProSound web, you'll see they don't have a great reputation on slider / pot durability esp for DJ use... but those that do, cost SIGNIFICANTLY more. I often tell myself that we sometimes have to keep it in perspective. If you eventually upgrade, you can't loose a ton of $ on a 50$ mixer.[] BTW, if you do get the duo I be interested on your opinion on Room EQ Wizard software performance in taking time energy measurements. With my renovation, I haven't gotten around to many things.... ROb
