Promedia 5.1's

I am a bit discouraged at the moment.

I've wanted to get some Pro Media's ever since I read a review on them saying they were the best speakers around. ( which is debatable but I have to agree with the assesment at the moment... sound wise)

I have now had two sets of Pro Media's..... both 5.1's.

One ( the one on my desk right now ) is a replacement for the first set..... which was a defective unit. Klipsch Tech support couldnt figure it out any more than I could. They just would not play any sound.

Now, this set, i am told from klipsch Tech support, is defective. I came back from a long weekend, turned them on, and heard the most god awful screaching noises, badly distorted sound ( some stuff that should have gone to the satalites was comming from the subwoofer...ect ).

I tried a different outlet, no avail........ nothing I tried worked.

So, now I have to send THIS set back... and await the third set.......

I am wondering If I am the only person having these problems?

My first set of 4.1s were dead in the box. My next set were fine for about six months. They then developed a rather scratchy volume control. Now, after a total of 18 months, they have died altogether. As great as they sound, they are rather cheaply put together.

go back to the main forum page and scroll down to find the promedia forums. You're going to quickly find out that you are NOT the only one. I think most are having the same problems. There are guys there on their fourth sets.

Good luck.
