Bleuskies
I just signed up new to the forum. I've owed a pair of KG4's for years and appreciate the Klipsch sound and quality. In changing from two channel stereo to 5.1 surround, I purchased a KSW-12 and a new Denon ASV2105 to drive it. No matter how I hook it up, preamp line in or speaker connect, it just rumbles. Even with no signal! Any thoughts?
LebanonKlipschFan
You either have a ground loop due to AC noise in the line, try a 2 prong to 3 prong grounding adaptor, or you have a capacitor broken on the circuit board causing the interferrence. Bleuskies
It doesn't appear to be a ground loop problem but I think you may be right about the capacitor. The Klipsch tech support guy says he has never seen this symptom to date so I guess its pretty rare. It is still under warranty so it looks like its time to ship it back. Thanks for the response! DrWho
What does this rumbling sound like? Is it more of a buzz or more like the pink noise test signal from the reciever? I guess since it's under warranty there is no harm in returning the unit just to be sure, but if the replacement has issues too then we'll have to look elsewhere in your setup.
