Klipsch Reference series question

I heard and saw Klipsch speakers for the very first time this afternoon!

I'm impressed...

I'm looking at setting up a home entertainment centre for music DVD's etc in a relatively large and open basement area. It will be in the one corner with a pillars and cut-outs but the whole floor area is probably around 1500 sq ft.

The salesman where the Klipsch is sold suggested the following:

KSW15 subwoofer

RC3 centre

RF3 pair front

RS311 rear times two

Sony STRDB840 REC

The price is at the max range of what I want to spend. So I'd like to hear opinions about the combination of speakers here. I realize that quality is a function of what you can afford; however any opinions will be wellcome.

Thanks

Murphy,

I have a similar set-up in my basement, and I must say it is well worth the money. One area to cut on cost might be in the sub. I have a KSW-12, and it fills the room with good deep bass.

------------------

RF-3's : mains

RC-3 : center

RS-3's : surrounds

KSW-12: subwoofer

Receiver: Denon 2801

DVD: Panasonic DVD-A120

CD: Yamaha CDC-765

Cables: Tributaries

Sat Receiver: Hughes Direct-TV DD5.1

-------------------------

Family room:

RB-5's (Mahogony)

Receiver: Denon AVR-2000 (2ch.)

Amp: Onkyo M-5000 (2ch.)

CD Player: Yamaha

Murphy,

I have the RF-3, RC-3, and RS-3 reference setup coupled with a Denon AVR-2801 receiver and couldn't be happier. When I bought my speakers almost a year ago I listened to the KSW-12 and KSW-15 subwoofers and wasn't very impressed the the sound quality or loudness.

You might want to check out a company called SVS Subwoofers (http://www.svsubwoofers.com/). They have many subwoofer choices and great prices. They are held in high reguard with many members of the Home Theater Forum. I hope to have one myself in the near future.
