sn3nut
I recently purchased a Yamaha HTR-5890 receiver, a Klipsch SUB-12 subwoofer, and a pair of Klipsch Synergy SLX flat panel speakers to go with my new LCD HDTV. I love the sound difference compared to the detachable speakers that came with the LCD. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I am thinking of expanding to a 5.1 surround system. Anyone have ideas on what would be best for the three additional speakers? I am toying with the idea of just adding three more SLXs, but am open to suggestions. Also, is there any real advantage to going to a 7.1 system?
Zen Traveler
Welcome to the forum sn3nut. I am not familiar with those exact speakers (although I think I have seen them at Bestbuy). If you like the way they sound for your mains, then I would think you would like them for your surrounds. They also (of course) would be tonally matched to the rest of the system. Check the Klipsch Homepage to see what other speakers match those for Home Theater. Insofar as 7.1 is concerned [:^)], it's nice, but IMO not necessarily worth the extra cost. Good luck.
