Jay481985
Sorry I was never good at typing sarcasm!! I would not take ten of the Steve spleakers much less one! For the average ipod user though this will be enough. Most people want something to play the music and are not worried about 104db, bass going down to -3200000000000, this tube amp or SS amp, etc. I know what you meant.... DrWho
Who ... must you show off your new school technical knowledge..?? [] Bah! Showing off would involve fourier transforms and pointing out the significance between odd and even symmetry. Gotta love big words and nasty equations that express simple concepts - makes engineers look smarter than they really are []
neo33
Apple bashing! My...my... "btw 80mm is 3.56 inches and the 130 mm is 6 inches sooo..... what a speaker system!" 2.54cm = 1 in 80mm = 8cm = 3.1496 in 130mm = 13cm = 5.1181 in Technically, Apple is using 3" drivers for mids and highs and 5" driver for bass. I doubt that this speaker system is designed by Apple. They are probably OEM it. As the iPod is designed and manufactured by Compaq and OEMed to Apple. The iGroove used 1" tweeters for highs and 2.5" drivers for mid and bass and sold for $280. And you think that's a better design? The cabinet design of the iPod Hi-Fi is better than that of the iGroove. The iPod Hi-Fi can also be portable whereas the iGroove is not! And of course adapters for every iPod available to date are also included with the iPod Hi-Fi.

Umm that is in house apple design there. Designed in cupertino california and made in china! The scroll wheel I forgot the company but it is oem but not compaq, the hd is samsung for the nano, hd is I believe hitachi I have not looked inside one recently. The HP iPod which is not sold was never HP it was reboxed as a HP to help bridge the gap when the previous generation iPod did not support windows. It just transitioned it better. Though when a customer with a HP iPod came into the store we helped them out as much as we could but they had to call HP to get it serviced
Larry1
Getting back to the topic rather then fantasied that an iPod is designed by Compaq . . . Jheeeze what a active imagination! A audio buff today posted this: As clever and talented a man as Steve Jobs is, he lacks any real knowledge of home audio. Either that or he has chosen those words for some reason. He comes across like he doesn't know what great sound is. Even moderately high-end or entry level equipment will blow away any single contained (we used to call them consoles) system source like this one. You can't get the detail, sound stage, imagery and dispersion characteristics with a single unit like that. It defies the logic of what "stereo" actually is. While I am sure it sounds or as good or better than any other iPod boom box and is well constructed like most Apple products, it can't take the place of two channel. Steve should have said that "this is the best way to listen to your iPod without headphones or a complete separate component stereo system to contend with." Couldn't agree more! kaiser SET say
I'm sure I could rig a cable to come straight off my iPod Mini headphone jack right into my LaScalla's and get that kind of range[]
