tmerry
Is there anyway to watch a DVD on a networked computer that has no DVD drive but does have the software and is connected to a computer on the network with the drive?
rol1
Do a google search for a shareware called VirtualCD, then search more of the same from that results page.

rol1
What's your plan? Linux, Win98? I'm looking at Linksys stuff.
tmerry
I'm running the Linksys 4-Port Cable/DSL Router. It has the built in PPOE so set up is easy. My host is a PIII 933/Win98 to a PII 550/Win 98, W/ a Earthlink 1.5 mg DSL connection on a Speed Stream modem. It runs great and sharing is wonderful. The VirtualCD sounds great other then the HD space it would take up. http://www.buy.com has an OK deal on the Linksys but it's about $25 more now then it was a week or two ago. Check it out Here
beday00
speaking of of the linksys 4 port cable/dsl router/hub thing what do you think of it? had any problems with it yet?
tmerry
It works great! And best of all it allows me to skip the crap software that came with my service such as winpoet. That program really messes up your system.
janko10
go with the netgear rt314 from buy.com for the same price and same features. maximumpc.com gave it a pretty damn good review and i find netgear to be a little more reliable than the linksys. some people have all kinds of packet collision problems on them.
