cpsam
Hello, We are trying to set up a smaller system in our living room. The room is 15 x 12 with 10' ceilings. We have a 1 year old and thus want to get a system that can be mounted on the walls. The center is not a problem as it will sit on top of our entertainment center. We have pretty much narrowed it down to these options: 1. 4x RSX-4 and RCX-4 2. 4x RSX-5 and RCX-4 3. 4x RB-15 and RC-25 Of these 3 options, which would you prefer and why? We have done an A/B of the RSX-4's and RB-15's and prefer the sound of the RB-15's. Our concern is that the RB-15's will not perform well on a wall since they have a rear port. Is this concern correct? Will the use of mounting brackets cure the problem, if any? We have not compared the RSX-5's to the RSX-4's or RB-15's as the local dealer only has the 5's set up as a surround speaker. Will the RSX-5's be noticeably better than the 4's such that our preference for the RB-15's would change? The sub that we have in mind is the PB10-ISD. Will this sub match well with the above options? Thank you very much!! Chris
coreyc
Have you considered the RB-25? It has a front port. It's been replaced by the RB-61, but some dealers might still have some, maybe at a close out price. The RSX speakers don't go down much past 100hz & the PB10-ISD starts to roll off at 100hz, so I think it would crossover better with the RB speakers.
