el jopez
Board members lend an ear, I finally added a RC-7 to my setup. I'm kind of satisfied, not wholly since my dealer only had a floor model to sell, and not in the best condition. I am currently using my 360 as a DVD player and have the system setup I believe properly save for one thing.... music will not play out of the center channel. Movies and games play perfectly, slightly overpowering my 35's. I'm impressed, however I would love to have music streaming through my new toy. How do I set this up on my B&K Ref 50? I have tried to setup to Pro Logic II or a surround sound mode yet to no avail. Could it be the 360?
capo72
Are you in DVD mode or in CD mode? In DVD mode , push the mode button until you get to stereo. Then use up or down buttons until you get to #3. I believe #3 is L-C-R. I'm at work now so i'm doing this from memory. I have not had much luck using my dvd player in CD mode. So I use DVD mode to listen to music. I hope this works. Good luck. el jopez
I have the optical cord plugged into the DVD input atm. Would it matter "option" wise if it were in either or as I am under the impression that all plugins are the same in regards to optical in etc. I did go through the menu system as outlined in the manual with no luck. There is a menu I am supposed to pull up that allows me to change to Pro Login II however it doesn not appear on my system. Softwares is version I.00. Suggestions? capo72
Forget surround modes. try 3-channel stereo. L-C-R. When in DVD mode, push the mode button on the front panel of the Ref 50. page through your surround options, then mono, then stereo. When you get to stereo use the up down buttons on the front panel until you get to #3. It is L-C-R. #2 is L-R, #4 is RF-LF-RR-LR, #5 is RF-C-LF-RR-LR. I believe there are 9 combinations. I hate listening to 2-channel music in surround mode. I use the digital coax out on my Denon 2910 to the DVD input on the Ref 50, and I use the optical output on my Denon to the CD input on the Ref 50. This way I can use the CD mode for listening to 2-channel music, without dicking around with the surround modes under the DVD setting. That is how I get away with using the DVD player for playing CDs. I have version 1.04 software, so this all may be of no help to you. I think you can upgrade the software yourself via the RS-232 port. I believe the newest versions of software are available on there web site. I think they even have a protocal file that tells you how to flash the eeprom. Good luck, Jeremy
el jopez
Ok it worked when switching to "Stereo 3". Thanks! I feel thought that unlike in 2 channel mode, I need to crank the volume a little higher to get the same response in "Stereo 3" that I originally had in DD. Ideas?
