pmsummer
Cracked open my son-in-laws mid-80s Heritage Industrials today (painted a lovely ecru enamel). The XO is an HIE with transducers, transformers, and resistors? No caps? I didn't pull them, just looked. Any advice on bringing these to spec (or the need to)? colterphoto1
Those have some special circuitry, I think tweeter protection and maybe different slopes. I have the brochure around here somewhere, or use the Search, I know i've posted in great detail about the HIP's before. I'd imagine just replacing the caps should do it. I'm no expert, but haven't heard a lot about guys messing about with the layout or design of H xovers. If you want to sell them, give me a shout- I have the LSI's and would love to have matching HIP's. Michael
pmsummer
They're not for sale, sorry. I forgot to shoot pics of the insides, but here's the outside. No caps on the XO's. With the bottom port, they look like scale model Cornwalls from the inside!
pmsummer
Have I mentioned what a PITA this forum software is? ;-)
