chops
Also, what about the Behringer Reference Amplifier A500? It's rated at 500 watts mono @ 8 ohms, +/- 1dB from 10Hz - 25kHz, and fanless. plus it also uses RCA connectors, as well as TRS and XLR. And after thinking about it, being that my sub is so efficient, I may not need 1000 watts. it gets pretty darn loud as is at only 180 watts. DrWho
The older CE line did everything one might hate in an amplifier. Harsh grainy mids, the power supply was way too easy to drain - it couldn't maintain it's peak power. And the auto protection circuit was annoying too as it would cut out your sound for a good 20 seconds everytime something clipped. And it had absolutely no control over the low-end - even on very easy to drive loads.
DrWho
I have no experience with the Behringer unit and I've heard a Samson amp powering maltokys SVS subs...The Samson is something that TC Sounds recommends with all their subwoofers so that would be the direction I would consider. And I wonder what they mean by servo controlled amplifier.

I figured if it turns out that I don't like it, I can just send it back and get the XLS 602 or something. Don't worry, I'll let you know what happens once I get it. Thanks for the info though!
