organ
I was comparing specs of these two speakers. I own the 35 and love them. I was wondering if installing x-overs from the 82 into my 35 would improve the sound. Both models use the same woofers according to the specs but it doesn't mention which tweeter is used in the horns for the 82. HF is crossed at 2000Hz for RF-82 and 2600Hz for the RF-35. Is this a good or bad idea?
Deang
Bad idea for a multitude of reasons. Just replace the caps in your 35's with some Auricaps or Kimbers and enjoy the music. Cap values are clearly marked on the stock caps.
organ
Thanks, Dean. I had a feeling it was a bad idea. I love the sound of my 35's as is. They're incredible with tubes from source to amplification. I think I'll replace the caps instead. Maybe this can give me more "air" and smoothness.
