Faluzure
I own a ProMedia v.2-400 series with the CP-1 Preamp pod attached to it. Lately, the pod has seemed to become problematic, specifically with the Speaker Engage Switch. When the speakers are engaged (green light), audio does not come out of my front right speaker. All the other speakers have normal output. I have to wiggle the switch around to get it just right for the front right speaker to output any sound. Sometimes the subwoofer doesn't come on either (but more of a rare case). It seems to me there could possibly be a short within the switch? I've asked Klipsch if they would replace it but they said it's discontinued and they cannot repair it. I'm afraid that my CP-1 Preamp pod will eventually fail. I've tried to look on ebay & other shopping sites for replacement parts but can't find any. Any thoughts? I do still have my original Preamp in a box somewhere, but last I remember it sucked (no headphone output, engage switch).
craftsman
A lot of intermittent switch failures are casued by dirt/oil getting into the switch mechanism. You can try some contact cleaner on the switch itself - of course, that would involve taking the CP-1 apart.
