oogins
My soundcard currently uses the 5.1 inputs on my receiver, and I'm thinking about picking up a DVD-A player. My receiver has only one set of 5.1 inputs. I don't want to keep switching the cables between the two, so how would I go about connecting both of them? I don't really like the idea of using y-adapters because of the possibility of degrading the sound. Is there something like a switch box that's available for this job? ------------------ -Paul My Computer Speaker Setup: Receiver: Kenwood VR-409 (soon to be Denon AVR-3802) Front: Klipsch Quintet Satellites Center: Klipsch Quintet Center Surround: Klipsch Quintet Satellites Sub: Sony SA-W305 (soon to be SVS 25-31PC or SVS 25-31CS) This message has been edited by oogins on 11-16-2001 at 10:17 PM
jdm56
The only thing I have heard of is a 5.1 preamp from Sony with two sets of 5.1 inputs. It also has pass-through connections for integration with a two-channel system. The list price is $900, though. Maybe Niles or Adcom will come out with a simple 5.1 channel switch-box for a resonable price. ------------------ JDMcCall
oogins
I found this at Home Theater Forum: http://people.ne.mediaone.net/shawnfogg It looks alright but $200 seems a little steep. ------------------ -Paul My Computer Speaker Setup: Receiver: Kenwood VR-409 (soon to be Denon AVR-3802) Front: Klipsch Quintet Satellites Center: Klipsch Quintet Center Surround: Klipsch Quintet Satellites Sub: Sony SA-W305 (soon to be SVS 25-31PC or SVS 25-31CS) This message has been edited by oogins on 11-22-2001 at 01:55 PM
