Seb
The Haunting comes to mind immediately. Amazing bass throughout, GREAT visuals, available in DTS. Top Gun, obviously, to showcase your sub. Of course The Matrix, a classic by now. U571 has a great picture and makes constant use of the surrounds. Gladiator's visuals are also very impressive. Ronin's car chases are quite deadly if your front speakers aren't matched. Saving Private Ryan is of course recommended for the sound, available in DTS also. Titan AE with the included DTS soundtrack has great highs and lows, and the visuals are also impressive. Toy Story, both of them, have great sound and an even better image (can you say "direct digital transfer"?). Of course all animation movies such as Antz or A Bug's Life all have great pictures. The Eagles' Hell Freezes Over is now a classic in music DVDs. Also try Super Speedway, it's pretty amazing.
