whamo
Hello all, Has anyone found a source for the k57 diaphrams? I kinda need one. I found a pair of kp301-b-fd's. I replaced the tweeter diaphrams already. One had a bad k57 so I pulled it from my spare kp-301-a. It's really not necessary but I would like a working spare. In other news I pulled the non factory corner protectors off from these and was expecting to find them all bashed in but no! they have pristine corners. I stole these babies for $100 bucks a piece. Sadly I don't have room for them right now at home so I've been using them at work with an altec lansing 300 watt amp so Ive got some really nice overhead. I've been filling all of the blemishes with plastic wood and I will repaint them soon. I'm gonna totally rewire the too and change the caps as well soon. colterphoto1
I think BEC might have them. The K57 is actually the assembly K52 driver + K601 horn. I have a diaphram that I got from him a while back. Michael

BEC
Thanx, I'll ask Bob. Is that one a screw on driver or a bolt on? Bob
whamo
Hey Bob, It's a bolt on one. It's got 3 or four nuts on it. I searched previous posts and thought that the general consensus was that they aren't available. Thanx, Mark
whamo
BTW Bob, Thanx for helping my friend out with his kg4's.
BEC
Is yours the type with the metal (cone structure in the middle of the driver outlet) phase plug or is it black plastic? Bob

whamo
Bob, I'll have to check on that and get back later. Thanx
whamo
OK, I checked it out and it has four screws you take it apart and it's like a thin plastic disc. It doesn't look like it can come apart at all. Mark
colterphoto1
Bob's talking about the make up of the piece immediately IN FRONT of the diaphram. It has a conical shape at its leading edge. Metal or plastic? M
