ttrhp Posted November 3, 2006 Share Posted November 3, 2006 DIYers, I got a cary 300B SEI on a loan from a friend.The amp havent been turn on in a while,and as soon as I turn it on the fuse blown.I decide to try it a few more times with new fuse installed and the new fuse blown everytime I turn the amp on..any advice what's going on here? thank you tom Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

JBryan Posted November 4, 2006 Share Posted November 4, 2006 I'm not sure if this applies to your situation but triode tubes - 300b, 2A3, 45, etc. have 4 pins with 2 pins larger than the other 2. Contradictory to logic, some triode sockets allow the pins to be inserted in any orientation although the circuit requires a specific pin orientation. Often, the socket or chassis will have a mark which shows where the larger pins are to be inserted. Check to see if your tubes are properly alligned.
