kenratboy
I have a pair of F-3's driven by a Primare I21 integrated amp and CD21 CD player (75 REAL watts at 8 ohms, conservatively). It is very nice, but I want better. The integrated and CD were purchased at a SEVERE discount, and I don't think I want to get rid of them. The speakers were purchased at a similar discount, and they are certainly replicable. What I want to know is if anyone here (Trey Cannon?) can give me an idea what to expect going from the F-3's to the RF-83's using the equipment I have now? This is for a dedicated 2-channel system and I listen to mostly rock and electronic music, so I need speakers that are not scared to make some noise, especially some serious bass (the F-3's do a wonderful job of this). What I am asking, how big of a difference would I notice between these two speakers? Thanks!
jmorgan32
Ken, I wish I could tell you that I have heard the F3's, as I have not. However, I can tell you I auditioned the RF 83's a few weeks ago in the listening room at Klipsch headquarters. (along with the Khorns - of course! - and a pair of La Scalas) I loved the RF-83's so much, I went to my local dealer the very next day and ordered a pair.) My RF-83's will not arrive until the first week of the new year, and I can't wait. I can also tell you that I compared the RF-83's to many other brands of speakers similar with respect to price, as well as many that were more expensive. From my perspective, the RF-83's are a tremendous value, and if anything, are very underpriced. (attn. Klipsch! Please don't raise the price of the RF-83 based on my statement! My dealer admitted this when we did an "ABA" versus another pair of floorstanders that retailed for 6K--------the Klipsch blew them out of the water.) Good luck, Joe
SilverSport
Synergy F-3s are supposed to be an upgrade to Klipsch Reference Series RF-3 IIs so, I would expect your new Reference to walk on the F-3s...I enjoyed listening to the F-3s I heard...waiting to hear how you like them as well.
