Surround me with sound
I am putting a 7.2 wall plate in the wall to help with the wire mess that I have behind my home theater cabinet. When I look at wall plates I find different terms for the connection for the sub woofer. Some say RCA connectors, some say F connector and some don't say anything. I am using an rw-12 sub and I have the LFE cable running from my receiver to the sub. What type of connector on the wall plate do I need? Here is a link to the plate I am looking at. http://www.the-hdb-store.com/servlet/the-155/HTWP72--7.2-HOME/Detail I also want to hook up a second rw-12 but my receiver only offers one connection. Is there a way to add a second sub woofer?
DrWho
You can use a Y-Adapter cable that will convert your single RCA cable into two RCA cables that you can plug into each subwoofer jack. Then you just connect one subwoofer to one subwoofeer jack and the other subwoofer to the other one.http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103861&cp=&origkw=Y+Adapter&kw=y+adapter&parentPage=search
Big Tooms
Don't forget the main or front L + R pre amp outs to the subs for added bass.... I would use the previously mentioned y connector for the sub pre amp out to each sub. In addition run each front L+R pre amp out to the other input on the subs.... Surround me with sound
Big Tooms, So what you are saying is that I need three y connectors. One from the sub preamp out and one from each front preamp out all going to each sub woofer?

Surround me with sound
Right now it sounds great. I have not yet run the R+L preamp outs to the sub. Will this add a substantial amount of bass?
DrWho
I would highly recommend against running both the LR and LFE (Subwoofer) preouts into the same subwoofer. There are many ways for this to screw up the sound quality - and no benefits. Let me know if you'd like a more technical reason.
Surround me with sound
Thanks for the advice. I was apprehensive about using the LFE and the L + R pre outs so I held off to do further research. Everything I can find says to use the LFE. It sounds great this way. Thanks Again
