jjackknife
I have a set of Klipsch speakers i bought in 1999. RF-3 pr, RS-3 pr, RC-1 & KSW-12. I am planning to upgrade my system to 7.1 & want to retain my current spkrs for economic reasons. My question is... Will the Timbre match nicely if i a) move the RS-3 to the rear wall & purchase some new RS-52's for the side walls? I went to my local HT dealer that carries Klipsch but they didn't have ANY new surrounds up to demo (i know, cheesy, huh!?). thanks for any and all comments. wuzzzer
Don't forget to check places like eBay and Audiogon for used pairs of RS-3 speakers. I'm sure that many people will be selling their previous generation speakers now that the new reference line is out.
jjackknife
wuzzzer: good idea.... thanks. I'll keep an eye out. Does anyone have experience mixing the new surrounds (RS-52) with the older reference (RF-3) towers? Are you satisfied with tonal balance? How about in walls (R-5800) as rears with the old reference towers? thanks for all input.
