Hey all! I recently just got a Sony STR-DG500 receiver and a Synergy 12 sub off of a friend for 200 dollars and I don't have any real great satellites yet and I was wondering if the 4.1 ProMedia satellites would work (not the promedia sub)in that reciever in the + and - circle looking inputs? I really don't know much about audio so I'm really not sure what would happen or if it would work? Thanks!

The Promedia 4.1 satellites run at 80 watts with a minimum impedance of 4ohms per satellite speaker.

Your amplifier runs 600-100watts per channel with 8ohms of impedance.

Im don't think that the extra wattage would be good for the speakers in any way, but i am not sure what the outcome would be if you did do that. Probably just put a little more strain on the speakers and make them be a little louder and more distorted than normal, but thats about it i think.
