Manufacturers sometimes quote power into 6 ohms instead of the standard 8 ohms because it generates a higher power spec. It means the unit is actually less powerful than a unit rated at the same power into 8 ohms. Speaker impedance varies quite a bit with most 8 ohm speakers varying from a low of maybe 3-4 ohms to a high of 30-50 ohms. Go right ahead with your speaker and amp combo.
