Hi Chris,

Fancy meeting you here.

I went to the local dealer and I came back more confused. He didn't think the difference between the RC-52 and the RC-62 justified the added expense and the hassle to get the RC-62 to fit in my stand.

He also recommended the Proficient CC550 as an excellent center that would fit my stand.

Any thoughts? Boy do I hate to shop sometimes, especially since they don't have any inventory that I could audition.

Hal, I have never heard of the Proficient. The 62 is a great speaker, personally, I would mod your stand if its not too much trouble otherwise go for the 52. The center is so important in HT, you really want as much range and punch from it as you can get. I never realized how much I was missing till bought the 62.

Chris.

Hal, OK, I just looked up that 550...just what I thought..a salesperson who may not no what they are talking about. That 550 has an aluminum dome tweeter and 88db sensitivity which is even worse than your Yamaha! Back to blown tweeters again?

Woofers Two 51/4" Kevlar Cones
Midrange 3" Kevlar Cone
Tweeter 1" Aluminum Dome
Impedance 8 ohms
Sensitivity 88dB 1W/1m
Freq Response 40Hz -20kHz
Power 125 Watts
Dimensions (H x W x D) 61/2" x 201/2" x 91/4"
Warranty

Go with Klipsch, its not even in the same ball park.

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your time in checking this out for me. This dealer is the only one in town that sells Klipsch and he doesn't stock them. Hopefully I can find an authorized dealer online. Some dealer is selling them on E Bay and I wrote him to see if he was authorized. He hasn't wrote back. My Yamaha center is less than a year old and Yamaha won't repair it because the online dealer I bought it from was authorized to sell their products from their store but not online. I doubt that I will ever buy a Yamaha product again.
