lorcoll
If the T5A autotransformer has a fixed -6db tap, can I use the tap 3 (that is -6db) in the T2A? If yes, I can build an AK2 network with the T2A. What do you think about? The AK2 is my favourite Khorn crossover: and I think I'm the only one that like it. BEC
I haven't measured the attenuation of the T-5A, but the T-4A used in the AK-3 and AL-3 is a fixed 4 db. I would think the T-5A may be 5 db. Bob Crites
lorcoll
Hi Bob, according to Steve P at Klipsch the T4A is a fixed -4db, the T5A is -6db but has an additional tap to run the squawker at full output. That is what I have found in other threads.
BEC
Steve P is correct. I just measured a T-5A and it is 6 db. Makes me wonder why they didn't just continue to use the T-2A for that then. Guess they were just eliminating taps they were not using. Bob
lorcoll
One reason could be that the T5A is cheaper.
