so sub sound from 2.1

I just received a set of Promedia 2.1 and I am getting no sound from the sub. Just a lound buzz/hum. I am getting week, thin sound from the small speakers. Any ideas? thanks

you should try posting in the ProMedia 2.1 forum but here goes anyways

You JUST for the 2.1's, hooked them up to an analog output on your sound card, turned them on, put your computer to analog output and tried to play sound and got only a humm from the sub and that is it, or is there just a little sound coming from the speakers? make sure you do not have digital output selected, that causes this problem.

Justin... What do you mean by, "make sure you do not have digital output selected, that causes this problem." Where do you make this selection? I did not change any software setting that I know of, and my old Altec Lansing 3-way speaker system was working fine. Please advise and thanks... Mike

go to the place in windwos where you can change the volume, go to the far left volume meter, called Play COntrol i think, then click advanced and make sure ther ei no check mark for digital output. i think that either that is the problem or it could be your computer being set to digital output.
